Print Jobs

Quick overview of print jobs showing which orders have Instant Art Kit print files, helping you find and navigate to the correct order

What are print jobs?

Print jobs in Instant Art Kit show you which orders contain line items where Instant Art Kit has created print files. This is a quick reference view that helps you identify relevant orders and navigate to them in your Shopify admin.

Important to understand

Print jobs in Instant Art Kit do not replace or duplicate your Shopify order management. They only serve as:

  • A quick overview: See which orders have been processed by Instant Art Kit
  • Guidance: Point you to the correct order in Shopify where you can fulfill it

How it works

When a customer orders a product from your Shopify store that’s mapped in Instant Art Kit:

  1. The order syncs from Shopify to Instant Art Kit
  2. Instant Art Kit processes the customer’s uploaded image
  3. Print files are generated (templates, patterns, production files)
  4. A print job appears in the Instant Art Kit dashboard with status and details

What you see in the overview

The print jobs overview shows:

Basic order information

  • Order number (matches your Shopify order number)
  • Customer name
  • Order date
  • Product variant ordered

Processing status

  • Whether print files have been generated
  • When processing was completed
  • Preview thumbnail (if available)

Finding the full order

Use the order number shown in Instant Art Kit to locate the corresponding order in your Shopify admin. All order management, fulfillment, and customer communication happens in Shopify, not in Instant Art Kit.

Accessing print jobs

To view your print jobs:

  1. Open your Instant Art Kit dashboard
  2. Navigate to Print Jobs in the main navigation
  3. View the list of print jobs with their processing status

Filtering and searching

You can filter or search to quickly find specific print jobs:

  • Search by order number
  • Search by customer name
  • Filter by date range
  • Filter by processing status

Why print jobs exist

You might be wondering why there’s a separate print jobs view when Shopify already has order management. The answer is simple:

Quick reference for processed orders

When you’re ready to download production files or check which orders have been processed by Instant Art Kit, you don’t have to dig through all your Shopify orders. The print jobs view shows only the orders with line items that needed print file generation.

This is especially helpful if you sell a mix of products: some that need custom processing (diamond painting, paint by numbers) and some that don’t (pre-made items, accessories, etc.).
